Heartfelt Gratitude for NCH

Jane and Bob Riley

Jane and Bob Riley

Jane and Bob Riley have been happily married for more than 50 years. They consider themselves bonus grandparents to their seven grandnieces and grandnephews. Bob was a small-business owner who has adjusted well to retirement by enjoying travel and photography.

As a former Palatine school teacher, Jane considers herself a forever teacher. After working with students and teachers for many years, Jane’s retirement included FaceTime lessons for her grandnieces and grandnephews during the pandemic. Now, Jane and Bob focus on lifelong learning through travel.

For the Rileys, all roads lead to Northwest Community Healthcare (NCH). According to them, their doctors, as well as NCH nurses and staff, provide caring and professional help on a daily basis.

These “amazing people and specialists” also have guided them through heart, back and cancer issues over the years. Jane and Bob are very grateful for the outstanding care so close to their home. In addition, Bob and Jane are longtime members of the Wellness Center and have experienced the added benefit of physical therapy in the same building.

Jane and Bob RileyGood friends introduced them to the President’s Circle, which opened their eyes to the tremendous impact the hospital plays in the community, especially for families and children in need. The Rileys are now members of the President’s Circle and enjoy the educational programs about healthcare and future hospital plans.

Jane also loves volunteering on Thursdays at the hospital with her volunteer family. She is usually at the front desk or pushing wheelchairs in the hallways. All of these connections with NCH led them to make the decision to be part of the Living Legacy Society.

As Jane says, “It is our small way to show our heartfelt gratitude to everyone connected with the hospital and to help our amazing community.”
